I have to admit that for the first 90 pages or so, I was pretty bored. I thought it was an interesting idea, but not too much was happening, and I just wasn't that interested. But, since Livia said she loved it, and our tastes are usually pretty much the same, I kept reading. I'm really glad that I did. The last 3/4 of the book were really fascinating! The idea of curse workers is so unique and unlike anything I've ever read. Add in the mystery, suspense, and plot twists and I couldn't put this book down. I loved Cassel and his witty retorts. I loved watching him work through what was happening to him and his family. I loved trying to figure out the mystery before it unfolded in the book! And the ending.....oh my goodness! Completely frustrating, but somehow still satisfying. I thought the language and the sexual dialog were a bit much (you know me...always looking for a clean read!) but it was nothing on the lines of the Tithe series. So if you're looking for a totally unique, mysterious read, check out White Cat....just make sure you keep reading and give it a chance!~Andye (http://ReadingTeen.net)
