Originally I wanted to read this book because it sounded like an older version of the Percy Jackson books (which I loved). And as I was reading it I thought they were similar, but completely different at the same time, if that makes any sense. I absolutely loved it though. Aside from the fact that I was crazy about all of the Greek Mythology, I also loved how much Kate cared about everyone. No matter who they were, or how awful they had been to her, she was still willing to risk her life to save them. And then there's Henry. Wow. Okay, so in a lot of the books I've been reading I've been annoyed because I like a different guy than the main character is with(*coughcough* Mortal Instruments). But I couldn't help but absolutely LOVE Henry. He cared about Kate so much and was always very aware of how she felt and what she wanted and he never did anything without making completely sure she was okay with it. And did I mention I loved him? The only problem with that is I also really liked James. He was the perfect best friend, and he was there for her when she really needed him. So basically I spent the whole book trying to decide who I thought she should be with. Apart from all of that, I thought the writing was phenomenal, and the story was amazing. I'm on VACATION in FLORIDA and I still couldn't put it down. I tore through this book and adored every minute of it. Kate was smart and actually tried to figure things out, as opposed to many other girls in books that I quickly get fed up with because they don't see something even when it's staring them in the face. All in all I would definitely recommend this book and I can't wait for the second!Kithttp://ReadingTeen.net/
