Wildefire had me at... steamy romance! I enjoyed reading this book. I wouldn't say it's my #1 favorite of the year, but it definitely kept me up very late hours every night and I would take it with me anytime I left the house. I thought the writing was very good, thank you Karsten Knight :) I liked the main character Ashline and I thought the antagonist Eve, Ash's sister was extremely evil (which is a good thing right?).I loved the characters in this book... Rolfe, Lily, Raja, Serena, Ade, Ash, Eve, Bobby Jones and Colt. Each and every character was portrayed perfectly. Karsten did a great job developing each and every one. I love having a good sense of who everyone is pretty quick in a book and Wildefire did not let me down.Ash the main character was very strong, independent and very social. She enjoyed sports, made good grades and was all around pretty perfect. When Eve (sister) would show up though, Ash would become a scared little girl. She played the victim very well. It was sad to witness, I would yell at the book (as if that's gonna work). "Ashline... you are better than this. Stand up for yourself and knock the crap outta Eve!". I would say that a book that keeps you on edge is very well worth the read. Eve was horrible, wretched and evil! She made Voldemort look like any old average guy. Mean! I love it when I hate the antagonist and I despised Eve! It was so much fun to read the back-n-forth between good vs. evil.So I have given you several reasons to read this book, it would be only fair to give you reason's why you may not to read this book. Here it goes... wait... hold on... I've got it! Yes, it would be the romance between Colt and Ash. No wait, that can't be it because that was really good. I loved Colt, he was a great lead guy who really had a thing for a girl (Ash) and wasn't afraid to show it. I loved all the little things Colt would do at first to show Ashline his interest in her. The product description wasn't full of it when it said "steamy romance" because it did get steamy at times, very PG-13.Let's talk about the cliffhanger at the end. Yes, Wildefire has one. I've seen in other reviews that some people were a little lost about the cliffhanger. I would not disagree on that fact, I was a little lost. Where did it come from? There wasn't even a hint in the whole book about the possibility of what happened at the end. All I can say is... that in the end, the book was a great, enjoyable, romantic, fun and an entertaining read. So what the ending barely made any sense, I have a feeling Karsten will clear things up for us in the Wildefire sequel (there is going to be a sequel, right Karsten?). The book is definitely worth it! If nothing more, you'll enjoy the battle between good vs. evil and all the kissing. :)Amy
