THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!I loved this book, it reminded me of Entwined. It reminded me of Entwined because it was set waaay back in history. Do not think that takes away from the story, it only makes it better. This book, The Girl of Fire and Thorns was amazing. I loved the storyline and the characters. The author Rea Carson really put a lot of thought in this book because.... it was as almost as she was there! I fell for the characters hard, there are ones to hate, ones to most definitely love, and ones to really be unsure about. Not only are the characters a main plot in the storyline, but the landscape has to be one of the characters, for it was amazing, also there are castles and kings. Elisa (the main character) found herself in the desert quite often and when she needed water and shelter, the desert most likely gave it to her. I loved when Elisa was in the desert, she really found clarity, found herself. Elisa was my favorite character, she was very smart and most of the time sure of herself. Humberto, her desert companion was very special, amazing. I cannot give away any spoilers, let me just say Humberto is one to read about!Normally Elisa is a princess and does everything that calls her to duty, for she looks to the higher calling. Well sometimes even though you do what is requested of you, even that means giving everything you have isn't enough. Well that's what poor Elisa feels like. She has to marry someone ( a king) she doesn't know and pretend to to be okay with this. Well, I would not be so accommodating.Elisa makes friends in the new castle of her husband (long story) and someone starts to realize she is very special...Elisa eventually gets kidnapped! This is where the story really starts to wake up! There is so much action, betrayal, romance that shouldn't have happened (yet was amazing!) and sorrow. I loved the part where Elisa gets kidnapped It is absolutely a thrill to read. All the men in this book are quite enjoyable. There are about four, that I could go into detail about and yet, you will have to read about them. They are quite handsome, amazing, addictive in every-way. The men in this book are either... strong, weak or evil. Let me tell you that they definitely mix the story up quite a bit (if not a lot) and they are very unnerving. You will not know exactly who or how they are... until the end, however, it is very worth the wait!All-in-all this book is amazing, it has a lot of history, detail and intrigue. The characters are mysterious and adventurous and always in the lookout for the next romantic adventure. The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rea Carson is going to be an historical action adventure, forbidden romance, and exciting coming of age novel for all to enjoy!!!!Amyreadingteen.net
