When I start reading a series that I can is going to be really, really good, I naturally get very excited. This was the case when I started reading The Maze Runner a couple of weeks ago. The series starts off with a bang, a gripping tale of excitement and mystery. And even though I had received a few negative reviews from friends, I was extremely eager to get my hands on The Scorch Trials. The book starts directly where The Maze Runner left off. In the very first page, you are hooked on the suspense. It definitely picks up much more quickly than the first book, immediately making you wonder, once, again, what exactly is behind everything. Of course, if you've read the first book, you know that WICKED is behind everything, but you still have no idea about their motives or purpose. So, at the start of this book, your mind will be filled with more questions than answers. And therein lies the genius of these books; it is, in my opinion, the quest for answers that keeps you addicted to reading this book. I can count three times in which I took a break in reading this book. I was not disappointed in the slightest in how it turned out. This book is a constant ride that makes you mad at yourself for stopping, or mad at your mom for making you stop. This is seriously a great series, and I can't wait to start the third book, The Death Cure. Seriously though, these are amazing books for everyone. My one complaint is something that I can't really say for fear of giving away spoilers, but it's something that a lot of people will probably disagree with. So go, read The Maze Runner series. You'll thank me later.-AustinReadingteen.net
