Two "young adult" moms and their teens chat about books together!

The Long Weekend

The Long Weekend - Savita Kalhan I almost didn't read this book.Because a couple pages in, I realized it was about two 11 year old boys.Usually not my thing. But I decided since this book was only 200 pages long, I would give it a shot.I'm so happy that I read this book.It was great. And it was pretty dang creepy too.I freaking loved Sam!He was so cute, and even though it's a book,he was tougher than I could ever be.He kicked butt and he's only 11.I'm pretty sure if I was in the situations he was in, I would have wimped out and given up.The Long Weekend was one of those books that made me bite my nails, and stay up at night and just think about it.I love it when books are just so good that they make me react like that. This only thing about this book that I disliked was that it was way too short.I wish there were more story to it, and somehow longer. But then again, I think The Long Weekend was directed to younger teens.Even if it was, I still loved it and would probably read it again. So, if you are just sitting there craving yourself a short and creepy read,go pick up The Long Weekend by Savita Kalhan.
